Audrey J. Warren

181115_J_Warren ObitMASON CITY:     Audrey J. Warren, 85, of Mason City, died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1309 South Kentucky Ave.  Interment will follow in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 PM Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave.

Audrey was born April 11, 1933 the daughter of Melvin and Clara (Phillips) Fischer in Mitchell, Iowa.  She was raised in the Charles City area and attended school in Charles City.  On June 11, 1950 Audrey was united in marriage to Kenneth Dale Warren in Charles City, Iowa.

Audrey was a sewer who had a passion and a mission for sewing baby blankets for church members having babies and for friends and family.  Over the years she has sewn many blankets and distributed them with great love. She enjoyed reading. She loved her flowers and the peace and beauty they brought to her.  Audrey enjoyed her many pet companions over the years and most recently her cat Ginger.  She relaxed while watching a Western movie and was always ready for a root beer float or ice cream. Audrey was very proud of her cleaning business, Clean and Green, and her accomplishment of earning her GED after becoming a Grandmother.

Audrey was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mason City where she was active in many church responsibilities.

Those thankful for having shared in Audrey’s life include her children, Betsy (Robert) Hernandez, Larry Warren, Frances Blakewell, Annabelle Vajgert; one sister, Liz (Bob) Sandy; eleven grandchildren, Jeff, Michelle, Pat, Katy, Adam, Robert, Cory, Carrie, Toby, Felicia; 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth D. Warren; two sisters, Shirley (Max) Allison, Olga, Billie,  (Delbet) Cross; and one granddaughter, Sara Powell.
