Letter to the Editor: Schwickerath gets his vote for supervisor

By Mike Brummond, Charles City

Floyd County residents are most fortunate to have four quality choices when voting Nov. 6 for two future county supervisors. These positions encompass an acute responsibility to public service as each supervisor represents Floyd County on more than a dozen various boards and agencies.

An endless time commitment will be demanded and a flexible daily work schedule would be most convenient. Add to this particular term of service the very critical oversight of more than $13 million new jail construction and courthouse renovation, the position seems quite daunting for any citizen to perform.

Roy Schwickerath gets my vote and I encourage the public to support this very experienced former county supervisor. Roy is keenly qualified as the former Charles City fire chief, familiar with building codes, construction budgets, facility management functions and personnel deployment needs. He is the right person at the right time as the county engages in a new facility expansion.

As Roy offers to spend his retirement days and nights helping Floyd County, support him in his efforts by voting Roy Schwickerath on Nov. 6.
