From June 3 to 5, Iowa residents were able to fish without a license.

Other regulations remained the same.

Charles City residents were able to take advantage of the license-free week and go on the Cedar River with their fishing poles.

David Kruger, 42, heard about the event on Facebook and then took to the Cedar River with pole and tackle box.

Cole Reams, 16, Caitlin Peters, 18 and Hannah Peters, 19, all went out to the Cedar River as well.

Under the Main Street Bridge was popular spot, with its shade. At least four people on Sunday went to enjoy the license-free fishing of the weekend.
