WAVERLY — Wartburg College senior guard Jack Molstead was recently named the American Rivers Conference “Player of the Week”.

The three-time all-state Charles City graduate who is the Comets’ all-time leader in scoring and assists, averaged 19.6 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game and 4.6 assists per game while helping the Knights go 2-1 during last week.

Molstead also shot 56% from beyond the 3-point arc during that three-game span.

After helping the Knights advance to the championship game of the Buzz Levick Tournament last Saturday — Wartburg lost to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 87-76 — Molstead was named to the All-Tournament Team.

During Wartburg’s 68-60 loss to the University of Dubuque on Tuesday, Molstead led the Knights with 22 points. In four of the five games Wartburg has played this season, Molstead has led or co-led his team in scoring.

Molstead currently leads Wartburg (2-3) with a 21.3 ppg scoring average.

Molstead was named to the All-ARC Basketball Second Team his junior season and was named All-ARC Honorable Mention as a freshman.
