Public events scheduled in the Charles City Area

SATURDAY, MAY 24

Marble Rock Historical Society annual Relics and Rides car, truck, motorcycle and tractor show; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main Street; registration 9 to 11 a.m., trophies awarded at 1:30 p.m.; includes all museum buildings open free of charge, free popcorn and rootbeer floats.


WEDNESDAY, MAY 28

Charles City annual bicycle Ride of Silence will begin at 7 p.m., gathering outside the Pub on the Cedar, part of worldwide bicycle rides to remember cyclists who were killed or injured and to promote sharing the road.

Double C Saddle Club will host a Barrel and Pole Series horse and rider event starting at 7 p.m. in the horse arena at the Floyd County Fairgrounds; free for spectators, with bleachers available or bring own lawn chairs; concession stand will be open.

Charles City Municipal Band rehearsal, 7:30 p.m. in Charles City High School band room; all musicians welcome.
