“Leap Into Reading,” a Dr. Seuss Read Across America Event, will be held 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Charles City Middle School for ages toddler to 6th grade; fun activities and a free book for every child; all children must be accompanied by an adult.


SATURDAY, MARCH 9

Maple Syrup Fest at Tosanak Recreation Area near Marble Rock from 9 a.m. to noon, sponsored by Floyd County Conservation; includes pancakes for freewill donation and silent auction; learn about the process of making syrup using the parks’ maple trees sap.


TUESDAY, MARCH 12

Floyd County Cattlemen’s Association will hold its annual fundraiser beginning at 5 p.m. at the Youth Enrichment Center at the Floyd County Fairgrounds; including prime rib by Flyin’ Bull BBQ, introduction of 2024 Beef Queen and scholarships, live auction.
