New teachers learn about Charles City on scavenger hunt
Newly-hired teachers in the Charles City Community School District went on a scavenger hunt all around town on Thursday as part of their orientation into the district and the community. Stopping by the Charles City Press Thursday afternoon were Molly Staudt, Michelle Dohlman, Kailey Eskildsen and Alecia Feckers. After getting their photos taken at the Press, the teachers were directed to go to the Floyd County Historical Museum next. This group was one of four groups of teachers on the hunt. The Chucktown Legends won the 12U Gold Division Bracket while hosting the annual Legends Firecracker Classic youth baseball tournament played this past weekend at Lion’s Field Park and Sportsmen’s Park. Players include Hunter Apel, LJ Barry, Owen Barry, Blake Bohlen, London Gemaehlich, Gavin Hamm, Dax Johnson, Tucker Johnson, Reece Krivachek and Cooper Mahnesmith.
