Election Tuesday will decide city and school positions

Floyd County residents will have several decisions to make by the end of the day next Tuesday, the final day to vote in this year’s city government and school board elections.

Polls will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the usual county precinct polling locations.

In-person absentee voting is still available at the Floyd County Auditor’s Office today (Friday) and on Monday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Here are the seats to be voted on and the candidates running:

CHARLES CITY

• Mayor – Dean Andrews and Richard Severin.

• City Council (2 seats) – DeLaine Freeseman and Patrick Lumley.

COLWELL

• Mayor – Jeffrey Wright.

• City Council (6 seats) – none filed; to be decided by write-ins.

FLOYD

• Mayor – Trevis K. O’Connell.

• City Council (2 seats) – Charles Newman and Kevin Krueger.

• City Council (2-year term to fill a vacancy) – Jeremy Stewart.

MARBLE ROCK

• City council (3 seats) – J.R. Ackley, Todd Schriever, John Marzen and Tracy Merfield.

NORA SPRINGS

• Mayor – Randy Hassman.

• City Council (2 seats) – Bryant Hicok, Allen Bailey and Ashley Kohler.

ROCKFORD

• Mayor – Scott Johnson.

• City Council (3 seats) – Jerome Schlader, Kevin Tegtmeier, Sharon Enabnit and Brent W. Medlin.

RUDD

• Mayor – Jeff Buland.

• City Council (2 seats) – Matthew Bouillon and Kaleb Roth.

NIACC DIRECTOR DISTRICT 2 – Catherine Rottinghaus.

NIACC DIRECTOR DISTRICT 5 – Doug Krabbe.

CHARLES CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION(3 seats) – Claire Jung, Staci Taylor, Josh Mack, David Schrodt, Kathryn Fox and Lori Otto.

RRMR BOARD OF EDUCATION(2 seats) – Courtney Ritter, Justin Abell, Tammie Hirv, Bobbi Hinrichsen and Spencer Rooney.
