The Floyd County Museum finished a fundraising goal last week as the Central States Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association donated the last bit of funds for the museum’s Corporate Tractor project.
In the works since 2008, the Corporate Tractor is a re-creation of a White 2200 that has been coming together literally piece by piece.
“It used to just be a cab and the engine,” said museum Director Mckenna Lloyd.
The most recent addition to the tractor is a $6,100 project to create a custom made sheet metal exterior over the engine. The tractor doesn’t actually run, but the new exterior, crafted by Minnesota-based Oliver tractor enthusiast Rich Dosdall, is still there to protect the engine from the elements.
“At least now it looks like a complete tractor,” said Lloyd.
Now that the tractor itself is complete, the last task for the museum is to acquire a set of tires appropriate for the model.
“Once we get the tires on it, it will be done,” said Lloyd.
