Cabin Fever Weekend date announced
To the Press
With the holidays upon us and a new year about to dawn, it’s time to look ahead and mark your calendar for the next upcoming big weekend in Charles City.
The Chamber of Commerce has set Cabin Fever Weekend for Jan. 29-31 and is busy organizing a variety of fun ways to get out of the house and break up those winter blahs.
Activities will be offered for all ages, many for free or at a very minimal charge, both inside and out (weather permitting).
Among just some of the offerings will be craft classes, Word Games at the Charles City Public Library, White Out Roller Skating and Zumba classes at the YMCA, and a matinee showing at the Charles Theatre of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” There will also be a lasagna dinner put on by the Band Parents Support Group, Family Bingo Night at the Senior Center and a Black Light Dance for teens at the high school.
Outdoor activities will feature cross country skiing and snowshoeing on Jan. 30 with equipment rentals from Crawdaddy Outdoors for only $5. On Jan. 31, Cedar Springs Camp near Floyd will offer tubing, sledding and ice skating.
