Fenix Lee Kolheim is Floyd County’s first baby born in 2018.

He was born at 9 p.m. on Jan. 5 at Floyd County Medical Center to mother Feltisha Kolheim. His father is Paris Earsery.

He was born 5 lbs. 3.5 oz., 20 inches long and delivered by Dr. Janet Tull, who also helped deliver 2017’s first baby.

Fenix is the grandson of Hilda and Felton Kolheim of Charles City and Renia Hester and Pearl Earsery of Chicago. He is the great-grandson of Wonda Spearman and Charles Chapman of Charles City.

He is joining three sisters, Faith, 5, Felicity, 2, and Farrah Kolheim, 1, in Charles City.

Fenix had rougher delivery than his sisters, but he made it out OK, Kolheim said.

The Charles City Press and the Floyd County Medical Center Auxiliary on Saturday presented the Kolheims with gifts from area businesses.
