Mobile meth lab found at Wildwood Golf Course

A mobile meth lab was discovered Friday afternoon by a trail at the Wildwood Golf Course in Charles City after law enforcement located a suspicious backpack.

The backpack was reported to authorities around 2:30 p.m. after a person left it and walked away.

No charges have been filed, but a suspect has been identified, police said. The incident is still under  investigation.

The Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, along with the Charles City Police Department and Floyd County Sheriff Department, were all a part of the investigation. Law enforcement investigated the scene for about three hours and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement disposed of the hazardous materials associated with the lab.
