Victoria Lantz

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Charles City Police Department, Victoria Marie Lantz, age 44, knocked on the door to an apartment in the 200 block of 5th Avenue in Charles City last Thursday, April 18.

Lantz asked the occupant who answered the door if Lantz’s husband was there, the report said.

“The occupant stated that he had just left and Victoria entered the residence by pushing the door open and then pushed the occupant to the ground,” the report said. “The occupant went to the ER where X-rays were performed and discovered that the occupant had a broken left wrist from the assault.”

An arrest warrant was issued for Lantz on Friday and she was arrested in Charles City early Tuesday evening after police responded to the 100 block of 9th Avenue on a report of a suspicious person in a car. Police located the vehicle in the 100 block of 7th Avenue and arrested Lantz on the warrant.

She is being held in the Floyd County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Burglary in the first degree, where the person intentionally or recklessly inflicts bodily injury on any person, is a Class B felony and is considered a forcible felony. The maximum sentence for conviction is up to 25 years in prison.

The Floyd County Attorney’s Office has also requested a no-contact order between Lantz and a person involved in the incident.
