First day of school

Things were a little messy and a lot of fun Friday for Tucker Reams, Kimberly Geweke-Vierkant and the other students in Kelly Bailey’s kindergarten classroom at Washington Elementary school. It seems the students were learning to write their names on the first day of school.

The first day of school for the 2019-20 school year for students in the Charles City School District was Friday. Classes started at 8:20 a.m. for students at Washington and Lincoln Elementary Schools and 8:05 a.m. at the high school and middle school.
