No records were broken this time around, but McTeacher Night was another success for Immaculate Conception School in Charles City.

A check for $857 was presented by the Soifer Family McDonald’s after IC teachers and staff help raise that money last Monday, Oct. 7, at the local McDonald’s in Charles City on McTeacher Night.

A portion of the proceeds generated from the sale of food and drink help purchase school supplies and allow IC students the opportunity to participate in activities.

Soifer Family McDonald’s collaborates with IC School every semester to put on a McTeacher Night. The last McTeacher Night held in Charles City this past May generated the most money ever since the event was first held in 2007 as almost $1,200 was raised.

Emily Garden, the regional marketing director for Soifer’s Inc., said she is happy to be able to reach out to schools and teachers in the area to help make a difference.

“It’s education and valuing community. We love giving back to our community and we know how much we value education and youth in the area. Beyond McTeacher’s Night, we also do a scholarship program for our employees and we do a school incentives program,” she said.

Scott and Lisa Soifer own 12 McDonald’s in nine communities, including the restaurants in Charles City and New Hampton.
