Charles City leaf pickup begins Oct. 28

The Charles City Street Department has announced that the fall leaves pickup for 2019 is scheduled for the week of Oct. 28.

Residents are asked to rake leaves into the street 12-18 inches from the curb to prevent storm sewers from becoming clogged.

The pickup will make a round through town only once, the Street Department said.

Anyone who misses the pickup can take their leaves to the Shaw Avenue Dump site, which is still open daily.
