Six third-graders celebrated graduation for three years of attending Kids Day at the Floyd County Historical Museum on Saturday.

Piper Parker, Tinley Parker, Leah Litterer, Oliver Parker, Jacqueline Mayhew and Dixie Wilson all put on their caps and received graduation certificates at the final Kids Day of the season.

The museum hosts children’s days for kids in grades 1-3 on the first Saturday of the month through the fall and winter. It is free for museum members and $2 for non-members. The goal is to get kids interested in the museum.

The museum has been hosting regular children’s days for more than 16 years now. Crafts, storytelling, scavenger hunts, games and snacks, among other things, are usually on the agenda.

On Saturday, activities included a leprechaun game, a visit to the school room and the graduation ceremony. The next children’s day will be in October.
