Living elf wanders the shelves at Washington Elementary

A living, breathing, life-sized Elf on a Shelf made several magical, mystical appearances at Washington Elementary school in Charles City this week. According to staff at the school, the Elf arrived to promote a sense of magic and joy to staff and the school district’s youngest students. Many families have fun at home with elf on the shelf, as do many of Washington’s classroom teachers, so the students were already somewhat familiar with sharing random acts of kindness and the fun associated with it. Although there were many rumors and much speculation, the true identity of the elf was never confirmed. (Photos submitted.)
