Fossil and Prairie Center holds open house

During the Devonian Period, 365 million years ago, Iowa was an ocean. Most of the fossils currently found at the Fossil and Prairie Park Preserve are from the shallow sea environment and are marine invertebrates.
The park is open from Sunrise to Sunset. The center is open weekends from 1-4 p.m. and Memorial Day through Labor Day from 1-4 p.m. daily. (Press photo James Grob.)
