Who turned out the lights? Charles City schools lose power for about an hour
Charles City third-grader Raylee Mannetter didn’t allow the darkness to prevent her from hitting the books on Tuesday, as she pulled out a handy flashlight and continued reading. Lincoln Elementary and Charles City Middle School and High School were without power for about an hour Tuesday morning, as was that entire section of town. The school district stated that the problem was with the electric company, not the district. Teachers and students quickly found ways to teach and learn despite the lack of light and power.
