Charles City RAGBRAI Committee unveils stopover logo, theme

The Charles City RAGBRAI committee has announced “Viva Charles City” as the theme for the town’s overnight stop on the statewide bike ride this summer.

Viva, by definition, is an expression of celebration, the committee said.

“The citizens of Charles City love to celebrate their community and can’t wait to welcome thousands of cyclists when they arrive in July,” the committee said. RAGBRAI, the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is staying overnight in Charles City on Thursday, July 28.

A team of volunteers has been working diligently to prepare entertainment, food vendors, beverage service, information hubs, sleeping and camping accommodations, safety guidelines, and more for these riders and their support teams.

“We can’t wait to see thousands of Charles City residents and visitors celebrating in our beautiful community, overflowing with art, history and recreational opportunities,” said Hospitality Committee Chair Phoebe Pittman. “Our logo speaks not only to our vibrant community, but to exciting things to come for Charles City RAGBRAI.”
