Healthy Harvest of North Iowa offers cooking class

Healthy Harvest of North Iowa, a local non-profit that works to connect and educate within the local food system, will offer a new cooking class series in Charles City.
On the final Wednesday of each month, participants will learn how to cook with the seasonal ingredients. The first class, which will be May 25, will feature Guest Chef Connie Debner of The Black Sheep Coffee Baa. Debner will teach attendees how to make Strawberry Rhubarb Scones and Asparagus Quiche using local ingredients.
An optional lesson at the Charles City Farmers Market will begin at 4 p.m. and the hands-on cooking class will be in the Youth Enrichment Center at the Floyd County Fairgrounds at 5 p.m.
