A chance to go on a horse-drawn wagon ride and chat with Santa will be available again this year in Charles City, but if last year’s event is any indication, the time slots will fill up quickly.

The Main Street Charles City organization announced that Santa will arrive in Central Park on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m., and rides will be available between 3 and 6 p.m.

Reservations for the rides are open now at www.charlescitychamber.com. Ride packages are available at $50 per wagon, and are able to hold up to 10 riders plus Santa. Proceeds from the rides will benefit the Main Street Charles City program.

Also that day, Dec. 11, from 3 to 6 p.m., Mrs. Claus will be reading books and handing out treats to kids at the Santa House in the middle of Central Park, among the Santa’s Shining Lights Show displays.

Santa Claus will be at his Central Park house to talk with kids on Saturday, Dec. 10; Saturday, Dec. 17; and on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Kids can also drop off their letters to Santa through the mail slot at his house in the park anytime through Dec. 24th.

The Sunday, Dec. 11th, event is presented by Main Street Charles City and sponsored by Dennis Donovan PC and Larry Pump CPA.
