The Charles City Public Library wrapped up its month of Wonderful Wednesdays with a foam party on June 28.
Rick Brammer of Absolute Science came up to flood the library parking lot with bubbles as kids jumped in to play with the floating foam. Typically there’s an educational component to the program where the science of bubbles would be explained, but for this warm June afternoon it was all about having a good time.
“We’re just having fun today,” said Brammer.
Roughly 185 kids and adults enjoyed the afternoon event, spreading foam bubbles across the parking lot and each other.
“It was fantastic,” said Library Director Annette Dean. “This was a lot of fun.”
Wonderful Wednesdays may be over, but summer programming at the library will continue in July with Get Messy activities, Teen Iron Chef, and Lego building days.
“We have a lot of fun,” said Dean. “Thanks to everybody for coming and playing.”
