Charles City Middle School fills gym for band concert

The Charles City Middle School bands performed to a large crowd at their fall concert on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Comet Gym.

Opening to packed bleachers, the 5th grade band members demonstrated what they have learned thus far in the year by playing “Rolling Along,” “Hot Cross Buns,” and “Big Beat Boogie.”

They were followed by the 6th Grade Band, performing “Autumn Fanfare,” “After the Rain” and Bravado Tango.”

Finally, the 7th/8th Grade Band concluded the concert with “Summit Fanfare,” “Ahrirang,” and “Kitty Hawk March.”

Members of the 7th/8th Grade Band were also recognized for their recent participation in the North Central Iowa Bandmaster Association Middle School Honor Band.

Deyzi Arenas, Elliott Linde, Karina Ibarra, Thomas Boss, Carter Mack, Owen Prichard and Sean Jones were selected to perform in the honor band program in Algona on Saturday, Nov. 11.
