People driving on Iowa Highway 14 between Floyd County roads B45 and B60 near Roseville should be aware of an upcoming road closure at the Iowa 14 bridge over Flood Creek that may impact travel.

Beginning on Monday, April 8, until late October, weather permitting, crews will close the roadway so the Iowa 14 bridge over Flood Creek can be replaced.

While the roadway is closed traffic will follow a marked detour route by traveling on Floyd County Road B45 for 4 miles, Floyd County Road T26 for 6.5 miles through the town of Marble Rock, and 3 miles on Floyd County Road B60.

“Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones,” said Jason Ruter, construction technician supervisor in the Iowa Department of Transportation office in Mason City.”

“As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts,” Ruter said.
