Friday’s heavy winds blew a distinctive cardinal and gold cyclone into Charles City on Friday, April 19.

Making a trip up from Iowa State University, Cy the Cyclone visited the area to celebrate the end of Extension Week. Touring schools and businesses in the area, the ISU mascot met with excited Cyclone fans (and accommodating Hawkeyes) in Charles City and Rockford.

“It was so fun,” said Extension office manager Amy Leaman. “The kids had fun.”

“It’s a way to get kids to learn a little bit about Extension,” said youth coordinator Michelle Schubert

Cy’s trip concluded with a special 4-H “tailgate party” in the Extension office where kids enjoyed hot dogs, drawings, and photo opportunities.
