Runners showed off their colors on Saturday as people came out to participate in the third annual IC in Color Run.

Morning rain pushed back the event for the second year in a row, but by late morning the skies had cleared enough to get the runners organized and on their way for a jaunt through the city.

“Overall it went well,” said coordinator Emily Knecht. “We had lots of fun.”

With about 80 runners making their way around the course, there was plenty of color in the air as kids and adults alike trickled in for a flashing finish.

Coming in first place in the race was Megan Babcock, followed by Camryn Molstead in second and Skylar Buss in third.

The IC in Color Run is put on by the IC Parent Teacher Organization as a general fundraiser for PTO activities. Proceeds raised during the event pay for things like the school’s Teacher Appreciation Lunch, the 5th-6th grade trip, and more.

“We just do lots of little things for the school that they couldn’t do otherwise,” said Knecht.
