Cambrex donates Fire tablets to the Fire Department

The Charles City Fire Department received a technology upgrade this week after Cambrex donated six tablet computers to the department.
“It will help us with several things,” said Fire Chief Sam Deverell.
Each tablet will be assigned to a fire truck and used to document inspections of equipment and inventory, making it easier to keep track of what each vehicle has or needs.
Upon learning how the department could use some tablet computers, Josh Neupert, a firefighter and associate director of operations at Cambrex, reached out to his IT department to see if they had anything that would work.
Cambrex found, appropriately, a set of Amazon Fire tablets that could be donated to the Fire Department.
Along with keeping track of equipment, the tablets can also be used to sync with the IamResponding app, which can map out routes to service calls, display the location of fire hydrants, and track which emergency vehicles are responding.
“I think it’s definitely a worthy cause,” said Deverell. “It shows a lot about Cambrex that they care about emergency services.”
