Immaculate Conception Elementary students participated in a special program on Friday, Sept. 6, as a former Charles City couple brought a religious presentation back home.
Charles City native Steve Hauser and his wife, Lauri, live in Wisconsin now, but visited Charles City last week to bring IC2KG to IC school.
“IC2KG has been a part of our family since 2005,” said Lauri Hauser. “We’re just trying to spread the message to the kiddos.”
Similar to the popular “WWJD,” (“What Would Jesus Do’), “IC2KG” stands for “I Choose To Know God” as a way for people to consider how they approach religion and their lives.
Since February, the Hausers have been doing presentations at schools, colleges, and other Christian organizations as a way of invoking religious enthusiasm.
On Friday, Lauri Hauser led an assembly where student volunteers led activities about the importance of choosing to be Christian.
Along with putting on the assembly, Hauser left the school’s teachers with lesson plans, games and songs to incorporate into the classroom.
“They’re just going to plop it in to their regular curriculum,” said Hauser.
Steve Hauser is the son of Kip and Judy Hauser of Charles City.
