Nearly 100 people came out to the Charles Theatre on Monday, Sept. 23, to enjoy a performance from the Alma Danza Dance Troupe.

Visiting from Yucatan, Mexico as part of the Partners of the Americas cultural exchange program, the group has spent the week touring Iowa to experience Midwest culture and share their own customs and traditions.

The group’s tour of the state culminated on Monday evening with a special performance where donned traditional Hispanic costumes and performed a lively series of songs and dances.

“It was well received,” said Dianne Souder, who helped facilitate the group’s visit to Floyd County. “They’ve got a lot of energy.”
