Midwest mystery author returns to Charles City

Native Iowan author Tony Wirt returned to Charles City on Friday, Nov. 8, to talk about his latest book at Prologue Books and Wine.

Originally from Like Mills, now living in Rochester, Wirt was here last year as part of a tour of Midwest mystery authors.

“That event we did here last year was the best event we had on the tour,” said Wirt. “So I knew I wanted to come back.”

Now out promoting his latest book, “Pike Island,” Wirt made it a point to come back to Charles City for another visit to discuss the behind-the-scenes stories of his previous works and his new political thriller.

“This stop was my priority,” said Wirt. “Seeing people I met last time is a lot of fun.”
