The kitchen is open once again at Hot Shots Billiards.

The downtown bar officially released its new menu on Thursday, announcing the return of hot food items for the first time in nearly a year since the closure of Burrito Mexpress last winter.

“I know a lot of people missed it,” said owner Joe Hull. “It’s exciting to bring it back.”

Open on Tuesday through Friday nights and all day Saturday, the kitchen is being run by new manager Trent Barry. Barry’s family previously owned the Comet Bowl and he is excited to be back in the kitchen.

“Food is my passion,” said Barry. “I want to give good food to people and leave them with a smile.”

The new menu features bar & grills staples like wings, burgers, specialty sandwiches, salads and a variety of appetizers available for dine-in or carry-out. Hull says the menu may even expand down the line once everything in the kitchen gets up and running.

“There’s more to come as well once we get used to this,” said Hull. “As of right now that’s still a secret.”
