Prescott Auction Services is ready to take bids.
The newly opened business on 219 North Main Street in downtown Charles City will be holding its first live auction in its new location on Saturday, Nov. 23.
David Prescott has been auctioneering on and off since 2009, but has recently stepped up to expand his business.
“I’ve been hitting it hard for the last two years,” said Prescott.
Previously working out of New Hampton, Prescott has been looking for a bigger space closer to home. He and his wife, Luanne, have spent the last several weeks setting up a new, larger, location downtown to host their auction services.
On Saturday morning the inaugural auction will feature items from six consigners up for bidding, with items ranging from blankets to dishware to DVDs. He hopes that a steady flow of consigners will allow him to host live auctions on a regular basis.
“My goal is to have one about every two weeks,” said Prescott.
Along with consignment auctions, Prescott is available for estate auctions and benefits or fundraisers that do a live auction event.
During the week Prescott can be reached by phone and has open hours where he will be available for people to bring items in for consignment.
“I’m available pretty much any time,” said Prescott.
