Charles City Arts Center ready for holiday market

Holiday shoppers can find unique gift ideas this month as the Charles City Arts Center as it opens its Holiday Art Market this on Friday, Dec. 6.

In lieu of a featured artist for the month, the Arts Center will instead be adorned with an inventory of art pieces for purchase from a variety of creators.

“It’s all Iowa artists,” said Arts Center Director Emily Kiewel. “Some are local, some are regional.”

Along with the Arts Center’s regular selection of pieces, new work from regional artists will be on sale as well as recently unpacked art featuring Charles City found as the Arts Center has gone through some cleaning and organizing.

“We found a huge stack of limited edition Charles City prints,” said Kiewel.

The Arts Center’s Holiday Art Market will be open throughout December and will host a special holiday open house on Friday, Dec. 6, where people can enjoy Christmas cookies and tree decorating while they browse the selection.
