Puzzles and Pizza at St. John’s

Paper plates of pizza and popcorn placated people as they pondered puzzle piece placement at St. John Evangelical Lutheran on Sunday, Feb. 16.
Roughly 40 people gathered for a friendly puzzle-solving contest as teams raced to complete a 300-piece puzzle of their choosing for some novelty prizes and bragging rights.
In between searching for the right puzzle pieces, teams enjoyed snacking on popcorn and pizza provided for the event.
“This has worked out great,” said organizer Kim Watkins. “I think we’ll probably do it again.”
Freewill donations were accepted to help cover the cost of the activity, but it wasn’t part of any greater fundraising effort. The church will be hosting a Mystery Dinner fundraiser on March 22 to contribute toward its upcoming parking lot project this summer.
