Amanda McCarty and Reese Patrie will be part of the event celebrating all things Irish when it’s brought back this year after a hiatus lasting since the advent of COVID in 2020.

“I am honored to be part of the revitalization of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade,” said McCarty. “I’ve always enjoyed the parade and it’s fun to be a participate in it.”

“I’m excited,” said Patrie. “I’m super excited.”

The parade is being organized by Meg Rodriguez and Tonya Nosbisch, both former Miss Shamrocks themselves, and Rodriguez is the daughter of one of the parade’s original organizer, John Morris, who help start it in the early 1990s.

The event is set to begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15.

The Drouthy Ducks Scottish bagpipe band is again planned to be part of the parade, as well as other community notables and organizations along with the newly minted Miss Shamrock and Little Miss Shamrock.
