The Charles City Community School Board approved the contracts for next year’s staff salaries during a special meeting on Wednesday, April 23.
The new contracts include a 3.25% increase in total compensation for teachers, support staff, and administration, amounting to about $0.77 for hourly support staff and an average $2,000 salary increase across the pool of teachers.
The board also approved the buy-back of some of Superintendent Burnight’s vacation days, as he expects his year will be too busy with preparing for the upcoming high school renovation bond vote to fully utilize them.
