Kids made their own pinwheels during the Charles City Public Library’ weekly Get Messy Program this week.

“It’s a springy fun activity,” said children’s librarian Stacey Leerhoff.

Coloring and cutting up cups, the springtime craft coincided with the celebration of Earth Day, with several environment-themed stories on display.

Coming up next week, the program will invite kids to come in and make their own homemade Tootsie Rolls.
