The thunder rolled in Charles City on Wednesday but that didn’t stop a country music performance at the Charles Theatre.

The latest live musical concert at the theater featured musician Brad Morgan, who brought his acoustic guitar to the stage for a special mid-week event.

An Iowa native, Morgan has spent the last 11 years in Nashville working on his music career. Coming home for a summer tour across the Midwest, Morgan was able to find a spot in the schedule for his Charles City debut at the Charles Theatre.

“It’s an awesome concept of a movie theater with a dual purpose venue,” said Morgan. “And it sounds great.”

The Wednesday night crowd enjoyed the show as Morgan performed popular country favorites and original songs, sharing stories about his career and the inspiration behind his songs throughout the concert.

Coming up for the Charles Theatre, the next live music show is planned for Thursday, July 3, kicking off the Independence Day weekend with a full band concert featuring Jake Simon.
