Party in the Park bounces into July

After several days of scattered showers, the rain let up just in time for an evening of sunshine and blue skies for Party in the Park on Friday, June 29.
A good sized crowd came out to enjoy the weekend festivities, which included the usual selection of games, food vendors, and live music, this time provided by Richie Lee and the Fabulous 50’s.
The premiere sponsor for this week’s event was Curbtender, a relative newcomer to Charles City that was onsite with giveaway merch and applications for welding jobs.
“It’s been really nice,” said Curbtender’s Laurie Watje. “It’s a very nice event.”
Along with the regular games and activities, each Party in the Park this year features a special attraction for the evening. In this case, it was a series of inflatables for kids to bounce around on all evening.
For an activity that both kids and adults could enjoy, Horsin’ Around came to town to offer summertime wagon rides around the neighborhood.
Party in the Park will be taking a break through July, but will return on Aug. 1 for one last 2025 summer outing.
