LOCAL NOTES Brush and leaf pickup dates announced

Final leaf and brush pickup for 2015 will officially start the week of Oct. 26. Please place your brush on the parking with the cut ends facing the street. They will make a round through town only once. If you miss getting your brush out in time for pickup, the Shaw Avenue Dumpsite is still open daily for your convenience. Please remember that whole trees will not be picked up.

Please rake your leaves into the street 6-12 inches away from the curb and storm sewers.

Trunk or Treat planned at Gospel

Lighthouse Church

Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd will be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 6-7 p.m. The fun-filled event is free to children of all ages. They can come in costume if they want to and enjoy games, candy and sweet fellowship.

Love and Respect Marriage Retreat planned for Oct. 30

To receive information about registering for this years Fall Marriage Retreat, which will focus on “Developing A Loving and Respectful Marriage,” please contact the Charles City Evangelical Free Church Office at 641-228-2780. The retreat will be held on Friday evening Oct. 30. The Retreat is held at Rock River Retreat Center near Webster City.
