Spookwalk generates even more Halloween fun

To the Press

Community Revitalization and the Spookwalk Committee sponsored Halloween coloring and candy counting contests for little ones across Charles City’s preschools and elementary schools. Flexing both their creativity and latent math skills, the kids got a chance to win front-of-the-line priveleges at Thursday evening’s Spookwalk. Eight lucky winners got first grabs at the goodies last night.

Candy-counting winners were: Cloey Usher, Diagon Knecht and Carson Linde.

Additionally, organizers asked students why they liked the Spookwalk. As kids say the darndest things, some responses were amusing: “You get a bunch of cool things. And it’s super,” Mya said.

“It’s fun, the best holiday ever,” Emma said.

“I like Spookwalk because it’s awesome,” Jackson said.

“We get to see all the crazy costumes,” Maya said.
