NIACC offers Class of 2016 chance to explore options for college

Special to the Press

North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) will host Explore 2016 in the Beem Center on the NIACC campus on Wednesday, November 4, beginning at 5:30 p.m. High school seniors and their parents are invited to attend.

Explore 2016 is designed to help high school seniors explore their options after high school. “This is a very exciting time for seniors and we want them to see first-hand the many wonderful opportunities available at NIACC,” said Rachel McGuire, Director of Enrollment Services at NIACC.

However, Explore is more than just learning about why a student should attend NIACC.

It also gives them career potential and possibilities that they might not have discovered yet. Members of the NIACC faculty will give students a complete picture of their college education as well as potential future endeavors within the different career areas.

Students and parents will attend an opening session, and then will have a choice of sessions about career programs, college transfer programs, and financing an education.

Following the Explore event, students and parents are invited to the auditorium to attend a presentation by inspirational speaker Doc Hendley, 2009 CNN Hero and author of NIACC’s “common read” Wine to Water. This presentation will be free to those who attend Explore.

To register for Explore 2016 and reserve your tickets to see Doc Hendley, call NIACC at 1-888-466-4222, ext. 4245 or go online at explore.
