CLUB NOTES Chapter JQ of PEO shares meeting minutes

On the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 2, Chapter JQ of PEO met in the Zastrow room of the Charles City Public Library. Refreshments were served by Sandy Backer, Nadine Schneckloth and Betty Magee.

Karol Carpenter conducted the business meeting. Several announcements of interest were made. Our sister chapter, CY, is hosting a party at the Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Members and spouses are invited to come and enjoy this event.

Chapter EN in Nashua is having their annual fund raising auction on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.

The Book Club will meet on Monday, Nov. 9 at Connie Swants’ home. Book Club will meet at the 3C Bistro on Monday, Nov. 23.

Our next meeting will be our Christmas luncheon at the home of Margo Rottinghaus on Monday, Dec. 7 where our money-maker for scholarships will be a silent auction.

Karol will send out an e-mail regarding all these events to members.

Julie Sindlinger was asked by Kathy McGregor from the Nashua Chapter, who attended the International convention in Indianapolis in September, to report on this event for her.

We were made aware of changes in the constitution and of the highlights of the meeting.

As the convention is noted for its choice of inspirational speakers, Julie filled us in on these folks who added so much to the event.

As we closed our meeting, Margo Rottinghaus shared the monumental phenomena of their three year old grandson, who was just diagnosed with an eye condition and with the addition of glasses, he truly experienced a miracle.

She inspired us with his reactions to this whole new world exposed to him.
