No Shave November fundraiser returns

It’s nearly November and the forecast calls for scruffy faces all around at the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office. On Sunday, Nov. 1, the Floyd County Deputy Sheriff’s Association will kick off their third annual No Shave November campaign in remembrance and admiration o f local cancer victims and survivors.

The deputies have set their goal to meet or beat what they raised last year, which totaled $6,239 — all of which went to Floyd County Cancer Friends. In the first year of their campaign, the deputies raised $ 2,249, for a total of $8,488 over the last two years. Each deputy has donated $20 or more to start the fundraiser this year and we are asking citizens and businesses to join the fight against cancer again this November.
