First Security Foundation gives $8,500 to TLC

To the Press

First Security Foundation continues to support numerous community organizations and programs with contributions to local projects. Recently, the First Security Foundation donated $8,500 to The Learning Center (TLC) in order to help them in renovating their technology infrastructure and network hardware as well as replace their security cameras.

TLC allows more parents to remain in the workforce while their young children are receiving daycare in the safe and educational environment that TLC provides. TLC provides daycare for children preschool age and younger and offers free and subsidized daycare for state and county-aided students as well as market-priced care for families.

The donation will go toward implementing a firewall and anti-virus subscription, which will help in securing TLC’s network, as well as a server to help protect and store information. TLC will also replace three outdated computers and all security cameras. The new security cameras will provide a larger field of view and a better quality picture, making it easier for TLC employees to monitor the area and ensure families that the environment TLC provides is safe and secure.

“As a business, we have partnered with TLC for many years. Additionally, many children of First Security employees attend TLC during the work week,” said Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer, president and CEO. “We give security the highest priority at First Security, and we are happy to share this objective with a local business and assist them in reaching their goal.”

First Security’s donation will nearly cover the cost of all needed hardware and software.

The project is anticipated to be complete in December.
