Where do you rank Jimmie at 75 career wins?

There’s no good way to rank racers, given the disparity in eras and, within those eras, the equipment they’re driving compared to the competition. but there’s a pretty good chance that Jimmie might be the last driver we’ll see reach 75 wins for a long, long time.maybe ever. he’s one win behinddale earnhardt, by the way. oh, and 50 ahead of Junior.

Really, no one else will reach 75?

Just look at the list of all-time wins. The closest is Tony stewart at 48 and 2016 is his last year. next is matt kenseth at 36 and he’s deep into his 40s, thenkyle busch at 33 and he can’t win after summertime, so he’s limited.

Will Jimmie reach 100 wins?

The knee-jerk answer is “of course!” he’s still running strong, winning multiple times per year and in that great equipment. but remember, Jeff gordon was just 35 (Jimmie is 40) when he won his 75th race and seemed destined to blow past 100. That was nine years ago and he just reached 93 last week.

no guarantees for no. 76, much less 100 for Jimmie.

feud of the week

BRAD KESELOWSKI VS. JIMMIE JOHNSON: it’s hard to call this a feud, but J.J. stole one from “kez” and you could see the disappointment on brad’s face after the Texas race.

GODWIN KELLY’S TAKE: when kyle busch says he feels sorry for you; you knowkeselowski was hurting after losing his grip on the Texas win.
