Malven to do book signing at Charles City Library

On Monday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Charles City Public Library, Charles City Middle School teacher Tim Malven will be signing copies of his newly published children’s book, “The Christmas that Almost Wasn’t.”

In honor of this achievement, the Charles City Library will host Tim for a reading and book signing. The library will also give away a copy of the book to the first 10 attendees.

Clergy invited to Hospice of North Iowa

Hospice of North Iowa is inviting all area clergy for lunch at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Hospice Office at 1003 Gilbert St.

Connie Bleile, director of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Mason City, and staff serving our area, will be present to give an update on services and to answer questions anyone may have.

Lasagna with all the trimmings will be served by the local Hospice board. Please RSVP to either Gladys Kellogg, 641-228-4591 or Judy Hauser 641-228-6762. It is hoped that many clergy will take advantage of this opportunity. Everyone is welcome.

Senior citizens invited to enjoy bowling in CC

Senior Citizens 50 years old and older are invited to come bowling for exercise and fun every Tuesday and Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Comet Bowl in Charles City. Bowl as many games as desired.

Music in the Library event planned for Nov. 25

The Charles City Chamber Orchestra string quartet will present a free performance in the Charles City Public Library on Wednesday, Nov. 25 from 4-5 p.m. Start your holidays off with a free performance from the CCCCO quartet and refreshments in the lobby.
