Community Chamber Orchestra to perform Holiday concert

Show to feature classical and choral music

The Charles City Community Chamber Orchestra will be performing a Classic Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 601 Milwaukee Street in Charles City. The concert is free and open to the public.

The chamber orchestra will perform three pieces, including “Air on the G String” by J.S.

Bach, three movements of “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” by A. Mozart, and three movements of “St. Paul’s Suite” by Gustav Holst. All orchestra pieces will be conducted by former Charles City Community School’s orchestra director, Gene Martin.

The concert will feature the Charles City High School Chamber Choir under the direction of Bradley Beale.

Together, they will perform “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi and “Stil, Stil, Stil,” an Austrian Carol. The post-concert reception will follow with refreshments served and provided by the United Methodist Women.

The concert is sponsored by Trinity United Methodist’s Performing and Fine Arts Committee with the help of the Jim and Virginia Smith Endowment for the Arts and The Charles Theater.
